Bhuwal Prasad was born in 1987 in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. He studied art at Banaras Hindu University (B.F.A.) in Varanasi and later completed his M.F.A. from the College of Art in Delhi.
His artwork is known for its broken lines, bright colours, and bold figures. He often paints faces, animals, birds, and imaginary forms that connect deeply to tribal and ancient art styles. His work is inspired by old cultures like the Indus Valley Civilisation, Indian rock art, Nazca Lines in Peru, and Egyptian and Mesopotamian art.
Bhuwal uses many materials in his paintings—canvas, paper, acrylic, oil paints, charcoal, ink, and even car paint. He doesn’t plan everything before he starts. Instead, he paints freely, enjoying the process, letting his thoughts and emotions guide the work.
When people see his paintings, they might feel happiness, sadness, fear, or curiosity. His figures may look unusual, but they are not scary.
They invite people to stop and look, to feel something deeper.
Bhuwal’s art tells stories—not with words, but with colours and shapes. His work is full of feeling, inspired by both the past and the world around him today.
