Aninda Verma is a multidisciplinary artist; her practice moves between textiles and ceramics, guided by a deep engagement with material memory, transformation, and the quiet rituals of making. Her work often explores the intersection of the domestic and the devotional, where touch, repetition, and repair become acts of remembrance.
In her ceramic practice, Aninda works intuitively with hand-building techniques, often incorporating fragments of earlier, broken works or found materials. These become layered mounds, textured surfaces, or quiet forms that hold space for the imperfect, the weathered, and the unfinished. Drawing from her background in painting and textiles, her ceramics carry a tactile language—both raw and contemplative—rooted in the earth and shaped by time.
Aninda holds a BFA from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda, and an MA in Fine Arts from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Philadelphia. She further deepened her engagement with contemporary discourse through an advanced MA in Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London.
She lives and works between Singapore and India, where her practice continues to be shaped by the fragments of everyday life, shifting geographies, and the intimate rhythms of care and attentiveness.
